Checkered stone vaults and exquisite carvings define Hayravank Monastery, a small, compact stone monastery perched on a cliff overlooking Lake Sevan. Built in the 9th to 12th centuries on one of the largest high-altitude lakes in the world, the site features a church with quatrefoil cruciform made of red and gray tuff stone. It also showcases typical steles with carved crosses scattered in the cemetery around the church. After 250 steps to the top, you will be perched above the noisy Sevan beach with a stunning view. A Bronze Age archeological site sits behind the church. While here sample ishkan, a Sevan trout endemic to the lake. An indisputable emotion in this Monastery - Not very big but with beautiful cultural riches. I stayed there a little more than the others, to admire the beautiful view of Lake SEVAN. Really beautiful.
Храм Айраванк действующий, вход бесплатный. Красивая резная деревянная дверь сразу привлекает внимание. The beautiful carved wooden door immediately attracts attention. Inside the church is gloomy, but very interesting look rays of light, falling through narrow window openings. There are always few people and you can quietly walk in silence. We climbed to the neighboring rocky exits and admired the beautiful view of the temple and the lake. Near the temple there is a car parking and a small tent with souvenirs.
