#2 of 8 in Theme Parks in Salzburg Region
More than a water park, Freibad Leopoldskron also features green lawns, serene lakes, and beautiful architecture. Kids will love the splash pools, diving boards, and slides, and if you don't feel like getting wet, there's table tennis, mini golf, and volleyball. Alternatively, rent a lounge chair, soak up some sun, and admire the views of the Salzburg Fortress and the lake once used as a setting in "The Sound of Music." • The Leopoldskron Palace was originally a family residence. Made famous by the 1965 film "Smiles and tears". In 1920, was held there the first Salzburg Festival. It changed owners frequently during the 19th century, the most famous being the King Luis I de Baviera. Currently, the rococo Palace is privately owned. It is used for special events and is one of the most elegant hotels in Salzburg.

  • This is one of the public pool the most argeables that I connaises; The lawn are great, there are pergolas to shelter you from the Sun. Several pools for children with fountains, slides. A small restaurant or you can buy a snack or ice cream. Back lab there are the mountains. It is magical. The pool communicates with mini-golf; If you fork for a round of minigolf SUV summers in family and then go back to the pool. Ideal.MES little kids were delighted.

Where to stay in Salzburg

There’s no better area to stay in the city where Mozart was born than the historical city center, a World Heritage Site. Salzburg's hub offers comfortable accommodations nestled between a rich array of sights. The Salzach River cuts directly through town, dividing the city into east and west. Look for accommodations in the Altstadt, tucked in between the river and the city’s mountain, Monchsberg. For budget-minded travelers, try a centrally located youth hostel or small hotel. If price isn’t an issue, splurge on Austrian luxury in an upscale hotel.
