Freibad Leopoldskron, Salzburg

4.4
#2 of 7 in Theme Parks in Salzburg Region
More than a water park, Freibad Leopoldskron also features green lawns, serene lakes, and beautiful architecture. Kids will love the splash pools, diving boards, and slides, and if you don't feel like getting wet, there's table tennis, mini golf, and volleyball. Alternatively, rent a lounge chair, soak up some sun, and admire the views of the Salzburg Fortress and the lake once used as a setting in "The Sound of Music." • I can't say enough good stuff about this water park. During our Segway tour, we went past here, and asked the tour guide about it. He said it was a water park with slides, which immediately caught the...  more »
  • Around 1500, there is nothing more to eat at the kiosk. Staff were very unfriendly and poorly. Games prefer to operate with the mobile as customers. No greeting, no please, and no thank you. Stupid slander and looking at the staff. And the season has still not even properly begun.

Where to stay in Salzburg

There’s no better area to stay in the city where Mozart was born than the historical city center, a World Heritage Site. Salzburg's hub offers comfortable accommodations nestled between a rich array of sights. The Salzach River cuts directly through town, dividing the city into east and west. Look for accommodations in the Altstadt, tucked in between the river and the city’s mountain, Monchsberg. For budget-minded travelers, try a centrally located youth hostel or small hotel. If price isn’t an issue, splurge on Austrian luxury in an upscale hotel.
