4.8
A slice of local tradition in the middle of Salzburg's modern city center, Sporer Likör- & Punschmanufaktur occupies a narrow 15th-century house and offers specialty liqueurs and schnapps. Run by the same family since 1903, the shop sells distilled alcoholic products created from old family recipes and stored in wooden casks over a century old. Choose from over 30 herbal liqueurs produced on the first floor of the establishment, or sample some of Austria's top wines in the shop's cozy tasting room. Check the website for opening hours and wine tastings. • You need to visit Sanchez! Drinks from our own production, the operation will also top wines. For me is one of the typical places you love in a foreign city, which actually run the locals.

  • Purchased some amazing Liqueur here, and the gentlemen helping us were very nice and knowledgeable about the spirits.  more »

  • Excellent service and quality! Tradition and class together resulting in a great experience.
  • Friendly, helpful advice. Prices were excellent along with the products. There was not any pressure and we were allowed small tastes of anything we wanted to try. Would have bought more flavors etc if not limited by home customs.
  • I walked by this place around 4pm and people were overflowing from the tiny interior to the streets. It looked like a happening little spot so I stopped in and was greeted by the friendliest crowd I have ever met. This spot is a regular hangout for Salzburg locals but a great stop for visitors as well. Try out the famous schnapps before settling on a glass of wine.
  • Great place to have a special drink or liquore in between the shopping hustle. Friendly staff and often quite crouded.
  • Great little place.

Where to stay in Salzburg

There’s no better area to stay in the city where Mozart was born than the historical city center, a World Heritage Site. Salzburg's hub offers comfortable accommodations nestled between a rich array of sights. The Salzach River cuts directly through town, dividing the city into east and west. Look for accommodations in the Altstadt, tucked in between the river and the city’s mountain, Monchsberg. For budget-minded travelers, try a centrally located youth hostel or small hotel. If price isn’t an issue, splurge on Austrian luxury in an upscale hotel.
