At Kaiserliche Schatzkammer Wien discover such legendary objects as the 8th-century Holy Lance, once regarded as the Holy Grail, or the horn of a unicorn. Set in 21 rooms of the Hofburg Palace in Vienna, this site exhibits Habsburg treasures and insignia. Two collections--secular and ecclesiastical--cover over 1,000 years of European history. See how numerous imperial artifacts glorify the political power and geographical reach of the Habsburg dynasty. Do not miss the Imperial Crown, Orb, and Scepter of Austria, and the Imperial Crown of the Holy Roman Empire. The secular collection features such curiosities as the largest cut emerald in the world and the cradle of Napoleon's son. Kaiserliche Schatzkammer Wien reviews
Glorious collection of Royal jewellery and artefacts . A must visit if you are keen in Royal jewelleries and Robes. more »
This place has, besides the crown jewels, a large collection of different garments from different times from various royal families and nobles with historic explanations to go with them. more »
We had a great time being awed by all the bright and shiny jewels and precious metals. This a large and extensive collection and ranks up among the best royal collections I've seen. In the beginning I wanted to see every detail and by the end, I only focused on the highlights. Definitely worth seeing.
A place to go to see all beautiful and rich inheritance of the Austro-Hungarian Empire. Carefully collected and maintained with great attention, each piece at this exposition has its history behind it. Highly recommend to take a guide to make sure you uncover more of the stories of these treasures.
