We booked the 2 day Mini & Grand + Phnom Kulen just one day in advance. Sam replied to my email within a half hour and we were set. Our guide Nol was already in the lobby when we got there at the scheduled pick up time. Nol speaks great english, in a calm tone, which reflects his patience, extreme politeness towards us and his respect to Cambodian culture. He was very knowledgeable about everything we asked, and was curious about our own origins and culture, which rendered enriching chats during our strolls between the sights. The days were hot, and if it weren't for the AC in the Toyota Camry, well driven by Serey, we would hardly last the hours necessary to experience all we did in the 2 days. He also provided ice-cold water and cold wet towels, which cooled our spirits and got us ready for the following stop. We were in Siem Reap during the Water Festival, so avoiding crowds was impossible, especially at Phnom Kulen, where many locals from other cities come to worship the reclining Buddha and chill at the waterfall. However, in Angkor, Nol made sure to follow alternative routes, and time our visits to when there would be less people around. In the end, we were culturally enriched by the stories told by Nol, the details he showed us, and were well served with photos from the couple of unforgettable days at Angkor. Thank you Sam, Nol and Serey for you excellent service -- I definitely recommend it to everyone who wishes to get the most out of their days in Siem Reap.
