  • We went on an all day tour with Friends of McNabs Island. This is a non-profit, volunteer, registered charity that works to help preserve the historical sites on the island. Pick up was 9:30 at Eastern Passage and where on the island by 10 hiked almost 10 miles (9.7 by cellphone tracker). It was a warm day although the ocean breeze kept it comfortable for most of the time. There is no where to make any purchases on the island so take what you need for food and water. The island has some hills so it is more of a hike than a walk. The water taxi picked us up at about 3:30 and we were back to Eastern Passage by about 4. Fantastic tour, knowledgable guides and the group of about 25 was just about the perfect size, tons of history, and local stories.
  • Nice spot for hiking.
