  • This is the popular name for the canal ,ertovka, which runs parallel to the Vltava River, giving rise to the artificial island of Kampa, one of the most beautiful urban islands in Europe and one of the most romantic corners of Prague. With a length of about 750 meters, it was created in the Middle Ages by the Knights Hospital, in order to provide water to the mills that would be built along its course, of which three are still preserved. It owes its curious name to an old dweller in the area, who continually annoyed the neighbors, and on whose door someone painted six devils. Legends aside, it is one of the most beautiful areas of Prague, also known as little Venice, and deserves a couple of hours to enjoy its surroundings.

  • This canal is named after, as a legend tells, a lady who lived in a house called the Devil's Grandmother. One day six devils painted in to the wall of her house and this lady was appunto.la seventh.
