Prague Zoo occupies a wooded area on the right bank of the Vltava River. Home to nearly 5,000 animals from almost 700 different species, the park offers you a chance to come face-to-face with giraffes, gorillas, polar bears, tigers, and red pandas. Although the park shelters over 130 species listed as critically endangered, its most important possession may be a herd of rare Przewalski’s horses, native to the steppes of central Asia. Stop by to see the descendants of the last Przewalski's horse caught in the wild, and discover other highlights of this animal sanctuary by taking a guided ride on the zoo's miniature cable car. There were a lot of noisy schoolchildren, but it did not prevent to learn the maximum pleasure from a visit. The zoo is HUGE! There is a chairlift, if you do not want to walk upstairs. It costs 25 CZK. Lots of souvenir shops and cafes
Very large and organized zoo. It's the largest I've been too and gets quite steep so be sure to wear comfortable shoes! Also don't forget to bring snacks since you'll likely spend 4-5 hours there if you want to see everything. They also have more than enough cafeterias and restaurants there (I think we counted 7) if you don't mind paying for a meal while you're there. They have pretty much every animal you'd think of and more in nice facilities. And adult tickets only 200 kc!
WOW experience and extremely cheap. If you have enough time come to the zoo. I will say that I made the right decision about coming here. Myself and my fiance love animals and was great seeing how they really take care of every single animal that they have over the zoo. Also, you will be able to get a decent lunch on the zoo. Plus, beers are cheap so you could enjoy more your time seeing the animals. One of the best zoo that I have been in my life.
