Visit the statues of Lenin, Marx, and Engels at Memento Park, an open-air museum dedicated to influential figures from the country's Communist period. Designed by Hungarian architect Akos Eleod, the park features 42 of the statues that were removed from the city after the fall of Communism. Check out a replica of Stalin's boots, which became a symbol of the Hungarian Revolution of 1956 after the statue of Stalin was pulled down from its pedestal. Although located a distance from city center, the park is easily accessible via shuttle bus or public transportation from the downtown area. I first took a tour with those tour tourists i to figure out what to visit and I saw how beautiful this city full of history is. Then, on foot I visited the most interesting places and of course the museums with the most important artworks and a very interesting yVan Dick exhibition. Eaten in various restaurants typical and not dishes, good, low prices. Beautiful city, to visit!

A bit out of the way, but great bit of Hungarian history. The guide book was well worth the $5. If you take public transit, just make sure you get the bus headed in the right direction. We went the wrong way at first.
I'm not sure the word park is fitting. The monuments are fairly impressive but I don't think it was worth the 2h round trip from the city when it takes less than 20 minutes to walk around. Maybe if this is your passion it is more worthwhile.
