New York Palace, Budapest

The old capital of the Hungarian kingdom, crossed by the majestic Danube, Budapest is an incredible crossroads of civilization and culture, an inspiring muse for generations of artists. The luxury Boscolo Budapest hotel embodies its soul perfectly and is an obligatory destination for anyone fascinated by excellence. The location of what was called the ‘most wonderful café in the world’, the New York Café, it is a work of art now restored to its former glory. Old-style prestige is united with maximum levels of comfort guaranteed by a most elegant interior design: marble, bronze, brocade and period frescoes magically complement the crystal and steel typical of contemporary design in an attempt to find perfection.

  • It’s worth booking a table just to see the interior. Being honest it’s very touristy but to be fair this means you can turn up in your holiday tourist clothes and not feel out of place, which is a maj...  more »
  • We asked for permission to come in and see it, they let us through without problems, we didn't consume anything because we came from the Gerber. We did a lot of pictures without problems. The place is fantastic and deserves a visit.

  • Amazingly nice place and palace, an architectural treasure, try to see it by any chance. All services are first class, amazingly nice and professional multilingual staff. It worth every penny, really. The rooms are great, clean, well organized and decorated. Please, respect the place and be a lady/gentleman. Enjoy your stay, you can really relax after a long day. I’ve been there on a specific Hungarian literature related event, and that one was also great, but for those kind of events you have to be native to enjoy.
  • Great location. Beautiful amenities. A wonderful breakfast buffet. Good spa features. Thoroughly disappointed that the hotel downgraded our room from a king bed to a twin bed without informing us, or making up for it. They also left a letter in our room addressed to someone else by the evening of the first day. We gathered that it was a welcome letter with discounts or such, but of course handed it in. No gratitude or alternative letter. On the check out day we were disturbed three times within an hour before the check out time. I suppose you could prevent a few of these pits by being clear with the personnel, but this is really a level of service I would prefer if the hotel could handle.
