  • In front of the Military Museum on Budva, there is an interesting sculpture of Jovan Kapistrana, a dead Turkish soldier was betrayed. The sculpture itself is interesting and the way the display of a saint is very unusual. Jovan Kapistran was a somewhat controversial for today's standards, an Italian cleric. However, at the time when he lived (XV century) his actions were considered to be advanced and courageous. His actions led to the death of numerous Jews in Central Europe (Germany, Poland and etc.). In history, he remained the most remembered as Belgrade's defender of the 1456 Turkish strongest. Year. He led a group, a bit of a disarray, a crusad'or. The commander of the defence was Sibinjanin Janko (Janos Hunjadi) and Kapistran sent reinforcements from Zemun and Petrovaradin to the surrounded Belgrade. Although it seemed impossible, Janko still managed to force the Sultan of Mehmeda the Conqueror to withdraw. Because of the numerous dead soldiers who remained unburied in and around the city, the plague erupted, and soon after the victory of the disease, Sibinjanin Yanko was succumbed to Zemun, and Jovan Kapistran in Iloku. 150 years later, the Catholic Church voted him as Saint and protector of Belgrade.

  • It is a statue in front of the military museum in the north of the hill of the royal palace. The statue of St. John Capistrano, abbot and Catholic priest, is described as "Soldier St." Despite being 70 years old, he led the Crusades to the Ottoman Empire (Turkey), which invaded with military commanders. I'm a soldier.
