Dilli Haat, New Delhi

4.0
Get right into the thick of things at Dilli Haat, a bustling open-air market. Opened in 1994 on 2.4 hectares (6 acres) of land, the market has the appearance and atmosphere of a traditional village bazaar, with thatched roof cottages and kiosks housing the colorful wares of trades and craftspeople from all corners of the country. Choose from crafted items such as rosewood and sandalwood carvings, camel hide footwear, and an extensive array of gems and jewelry. The market also offers a good range of street food stalls, selling local and national cuisine. • Nice and strategic location, best attraction for tourists from the country and abroad, everybody likes to visit it. Nominal entry fee worth value of time and money. A must visit for everyone good kids to bring along. Good mix of art, culture. Good for petty shopping and nice options also for dining as per timing for breakfast, lunch and dinner. A house of handicrafts from the countryside roam, do shopping take rest have food enjoy each moment.
  • An amazing place for trying out regional food from all across India in one place. Obviously the attractions of handicrafts work from all over India is the second reason I go there. Photographers... It's a place worth spending the whole day here. The sheer colors and their vibrance brings a new meaning to the word colorful at this place. I've been going here for over 25 years now. Tourists shouldn't miss out on this place.
  • This market is very special at the time of Diwali Celebration. The parking here is as it comes street parking. Best to have you taxi driver drop you off outside. Vendors are friendly and like a bargainer. Many good Indian crafts found here as well as tourist type take homes. Make sure you know what you at buying.. ex the difference between Kashmir and Peshwari textures etc. bring cash rupees best but some vendors will take a card if you purchase enough.. you can eat here and they have entertainment most of the Diwali time.
  • Very nice place for family outing and shopping. Can do lots of bargaining. Mediocre food quality available on the food joints. Doable washrooms. No feeding room for babies. No parking as of now, have to park on the road.
  • There is a ticket to the place. There are shops for Art and Cultural Heritage goods and handicraft etc from different states of India. You can learn about there making and Cultural significance. The displayed goods can be purchased. The cost is little on the higher side keeping in mind the economical group of population.
