Gurudwara Bangla Sahib, New Delhi

4.8
#3 of 55 in Historic Sites in New Delhi
Golden domes and ornate carvings accentuate the profile of Gurudwara Bangla Sahib, the site of some of the final acts of Harkrishan Dev, a Sikh guru. Originally constructed in the 17th century and largely rebuilt after World War II, the building lies on one edge of an extensive reflective pool. Explore the compound, wandering under arcade walkways on your way to the temple itself. Be sure to follow posted procedures before entering, which include washing your feet. Very peaceful place. It has the religious vibe though doesn't push it. The place is also very well maintained and works in a systematic and disciplined way. The sound of religious songs can help you get inner peace.

Sikh place for worship. Visit for peaceful atmosphere and to gain knowledge about the Sikh culture and history. The Sikh museum located has a wide array of audiovisual and 3D theatre for the same. The Langar is widely famous for its free food and for the voluntary participation of devotees for the preparation and service of food.
