  • We visited the church dedicated to San Vigilio and the convent of the Franciscans annexed with a guide of the Municipality of Cavalese. This is an initiative this year. Guided tours are held in the summer months on Thursday afternoons at 5 p.m. We saw the notice on the board outside the church. The visit is free. The guide has shown us highlights and characters from the history of Cavalese since 1600 with communication skills and sure knowledge of the subject. Inside paintings of the painting school of Fiemme by Giuseppe Alberti and his students, really very valuable.

  • This beautiful church built in 1685-89 together with the adjoining Franciscan convent is dedicated to St. Vigilio, the third bishop of Trento who lived in the 4th century. It features a sober facade with a pitched roof and a perforated Lorraine cross at the top. The holy holder is portrayed in a fresco located above the simple rectangular portal. The single aisle and barrel-ceilinged interior houses three beautiful wooden altars of the 17th century, of which the major one contains a valuable 17th-century shovel depicting Our Lady with the Child and Saints, painted by the local artist Giuseppe Alberti, who is the author of great some of the canvases present, especially those depicting various Franciscan saints. Also noteworthy are the other paintings, the polychrome statues and the cantory with the reed organ. It deserves attention if you switch to Cavalese.

  • This church is located in the centre of the tourist village of Cavalese. The exterior is very simple, the roof is a hut. The interior is only nave, with central plan. A very important feature is that this church boasts some of the most important paintings of the Fiemmese school. The ceiling is very special and of great interest.
