  • It is possible to take nice walks and on foot. Also accessible with strollers. The view from the fort is beautiful. You can see the whole lake of Garda

  • The trail develops on Monte Brione which is a watershed between Riva and Torbole. You do it quietly in a morning, it is not challenging and does not require any physical preparation. It is really well maintained, it is on dirt road and in part Gradinato. Going up to all crossings you have to keep to the right, continuing to coast the ridge overlooking the lake. Along the trail are the various military forts of the Austro-Hungarian Empire. Along the trail there are several scenic terraces with the possibility of stopping. The route starts from the Port San Nicolò in Riva del Garda, where there is precisely the Forte San Nicolò. We from there, we crossed the road where there is the entrance of the road tunnel, and a little hidden there are staircases those, even if it seems that you go in the House of No.. Are the beginning of the path:D Going up you reach the "Forte Garda" and higher still the "battery of the middle". On the map, continuing is also marked the "Forte Sant'Alessandro" but I have not met any construction and I have not seen anything. We (but eventually all) as a point of arrival arrived at the top where there are transmitting antennas, so we went over the last military fort. Once there, if you go down the path you can find 2 tunnels that pierce the mountain and Overlook Torbole. Continuing to descend along the cycle path (lined with olive groves), you go back from the "battery of the middle" and then you can take the path to the most beautiful and definitely more scenic. PS: The parking lot at the port is for a fee, looking around the hinterland if they can find free so as not to have constraints with the times of the park. PS 2: The various forts I read on the Internet that have periods during the year for guided tours inside.
