#3 of 12 in Museums in Trento
The Gianni Caproni Museum of Aeronautics is Italy's oldest aviation museum, as well as the country's oldest corporate museum. It was established in 1927 as the Caproni Museum by Italian aviation pioneer and aeronautical engineer, Giovanni Battista "Gianni" Caproni and his wife, Timina Guasti Caproni.
The museum was originally located in Taliedo, in the suburbs of Milan. The aircraft in the collection were moved to Venegono Superiore during World War II, and the exhibition was reopened in Vizzola Ticino in the 1960s. At the end of the 1980s, the museum moved to its present location. The current museum building, 5km south of Trento and adjacent to the Trento Airport, was opened on 3 October 1992.

  • Interesting museum for true airplane lovers! For children if you want to do the flight simulation ask the staff where they have to queue as well it depends on the height but it is not reported! Don't expect attention from the staff so we were told after an hour. Exactly qnd it was his turn!

  • Small but very interesting museum, with unique exhibits from the history of flight. I had been there a few years ago and had left me better impressions, now many memories of past feats have disappeared from the showcases. For photographs it is not an easy task, since the planes are in very close positions and you can not properly isolate the subject. It is still worth a visit, not only for aviation enthusiasts. The quotes of the "Flight on Vienna" are part of our history.

  • Good idea for "a rainy day" activity, expect max 2 hours
  • Not easy to find and not a lot if aircraft to see. Very very hot as heating on and very dry. Not a great deal translated to English but I guess it's an Italian product museum.
