  • The Hakone Open-Air Museum is a very nice modern sculpture park/museum. The museum itself is quite small, but the sculpture park is quite large. There is a lot to explore. I arrived shortly after it r...  more »

  • Do not miss! Hakone surprisingly was the best day of our compact 7 day itinerary in Japan and boy! Did this place set the tone for a soothing experiential value. The museum is spread across a scenic landscape. Feel free to walk through the area and indulge the richness of the art and beautiful landscapes. The museum is also home to the Picasso museum which contains more than 250 works by the great maestro Picasso himself. Given the opportunity will definitely return. Unforgettable place and made our day for a Hakone-ma-tatta
  • A wonderful outdoor sculpture museum with a dedicated building to Picasso. It is larger than expected making for a nice stroll even if you are not an art lover. The collection is excellent with famous artists represented from all over the world. Most of all, the setting makes for delightful viewing. Children will not get bored as they have a section of their own so there is something for everyone.
