Trip Planner: Asia / Japan / Kinki / Hyogo Prefecture / Kobe / Higashinada / Hakutsuru Sake Brewery Museum
Observe the process of sake production at Hakutsuru Sake Brewery Museum, an old brewery now refurbished into a major tourist attraction. Realistic mannequin dolls and real tools and equipment vividly display the process of making Japan's most popular national drink. Every stage is depicted in detail, and the amount of work and passion put into the exhibits is clearly visible here. The self-guided tour ensures you go at your own pace, while highly educative videos in English narrate the history of the former brewery. At the end of the tour, stop by the tasting room to try some sake and purchase a few drinkable souvenirs for all the folks back home. For travelers who use our custom trip planner, Kobe holidays become easier to arrange, with trips to the Hakutsuru Sake Brewery Museum and other attractions mapped out and timetabled.

Excellent experience and well worth the 1h spent there. One would definitely know how sake is made after the visit. Also sake tasting available and tax free purchase for tourists.
Interesting to learn how sake was/is made. They have video information with an English narration option. Most of the display cases are only in Japanese though. You get some free sake tasting samples at the end and there is a robot there as well to help you choose a sake. They have sake ice cream which is interesting. The walk from the Jr line is only 15 min.
