Hitachi Seaside Park, Hitachinaka

Enjoy a stroll through vast fields of vibrant flowers at Hitachi Seaside Park. The park offers plenty of variety all year round, with the seasonal flowers changing providing a wide range of colors. Daffodils paint the fields yellow in early spring, while the baby blue colored nemophilla sprawl across the hillside shortly after. In the autumn you’ll spot fields of red kochia and will be able to walk across the aged leaves of metasequoia. Rent a bike to get around the large park and see all that it has to offer, or take a ride on the ferris wheel for panoramic photo opportunities. • At the entrance of the park, nemophila was written as the second half of the best time to see, but it was still blooming beautifully. Because it was cold this spring, the time period when nemophila was seen seemed to be long.

  • I was surprised at the admission fee was 450 yen for adults. Seniors are 210 yen. It's quite a long way from the hills of Nemophila, so I used a 600-yen train (bus) a day. There were a lot of bus stops, and it was very convenient because the next train came if i waited for a moment wherever I got off.

  • Since we went to visit the park right after peak flower season, it was pleasantly not crowded so we got to see the whole park. You should definitely rent a bike for a very small fee, to experience the enormous size of the park, as I can not imagine walking through the whole place! One of the highlights was the nice hill you can walk up to see the ocean and view. Also the tandem bikes are a great couple distraction. Since we went on a very sunny day the view was just beautiful! Highly recommended if you love nature and want to leave the city behind
  • This park is so nice, I visited in January, and they had an "ice tulip" exhibit going on, with outdoor tulips even though it was
