Admire the monumental statue of Kōtoku-in, one of the largest Buddha figures in Japan. The towering bronze statue dates back to the 13th century and sits outside a Buddhist temple in the small town of Kamakura. Enjoy the view of the 13.3 m (43.8 ft) tall Amitabha Buddha, an imposing sight dominating peaceful temple grounds. For a small fee, you can venture inside the hollow statue to see the elaborate structural work that makes up this gargantuan monument. The Buddha is very impressive. And the grounds are lovely too. A good short hour or two should by enough time to take in the experience. It was not too expensive to enter, compared with other temples, so that was great. You can enter inside the buddha from the back to see how it was created. All in all, fun, and beautiful.
Probably one of the most famous landmarks in the area．Budda's statue is big. Admission is required, but I'm seeing many visitors especially non locals ignored and managed to get in without paying admissions. This place isn't free attraction for foreigners, it's rather a holly place for those in good faith. Please use your common sense when you're visiting here. (or anther places)
