  • It is a dam lake made for the purpose of neutralizing it here because the water of the strongly acidic Kusatsu hot spring becomes poison when flowing downstream as it is. Therefore, the bright green water is full, and it is worth seeing though it is an inconvenient place in the back of the mountain considerably.

  • It is about 10 minutes from Kusatsu Onsen. It becomes a mountain road along the way, but I think that it is easy to visit because the width of the road is wide. It is said to be a lake of the hot spring of Gunma, and it is a rare dam which neutralizes the acidic water of Kusatsu hot spring and Shirane mountain. I am impressed by the color of the lake. Even if the weather was bad, it was emerald green. It is a dam lake of the color which is not influenced by the weather. It's pretty much worth seeing!

  • Cool place to visit for dam fans
  • We stopped by the middle of cycling from Kusatsu to Lake Notan. There is a bridge about 500m west of the management center, and you can see yukawa flowing into the lake from above. The whiteness of the flow where lime was put in and the smell of the hot spring still stand still were impressive. In addition, from the vicinity of 188 Kannon which climbed the steep slope in the east a little, the view which passed the dam lake is obtained though it is over the tree. When it is sunny, the milky green is beautiful.
