Amazing. Visiting it seems the must for temple lovers or someone who come to Nikko. I have been to Kyoto and Nara twice but I'm still amazed by the temple. The structure of the temple are just amazing. Also went to a temple where the staff demonstrated there will be only echo under the head of dragon and witnessing it was a must during the visit. Also visited the museum to understand the history of temple. Spent two hours and it was great. It may seem commercialized but I was okay with it
A very lavish, commercialized mausoleum with a hefty entry fee (1300 yen) and several shops inside selling the usual shrine stuff. Great architecture and carvings that can take an hour or so to appreciate. It's just not very nice when the place gets crowded with schoolkids and tour groups that destroy what little peace there is. Overall interesting but again, too commercialized.
