Walk up the historic Ikaho Stone Steps, a 300 m (984 ft) long commercial and recreational street. Heading up through the center of the mountain town, the staircase has 365 steps in total and acts as the historic center, dating back to the Edo period. With both bustling souvenir shops and restful "ryokan" (traditional Japanese inns with spa facilities and restaurants), you can take the street at your own pace to find that experience that suits you. Stop off at the midpoint of the stairs to see the old center of town, still imbued with traces of days gone by. Ikaho Stone Steps Reviews
一口に石段ですが、コンクリの階段ではなく、石でつくられた階段でした。石段の中央部を温泉が流れていると思います。途中に足湯があり、くつろげます。 more »It was a stairway made of stone, not a stairway of the concrete though it was a stone step in one bite. I think that the hot spring flows in the center of the stone steps. There is a footbath on the way, so you can relax.
伊香保温泉に来たならば、一度は寄った方が良いかと。 射的・食べ物屋さん・お土産屋さん等々ありますし、 階段途中に温泉。 階段を登り切って神社からちょっと歩くと露天風呂などもあります。 more »If you come to Ikaho Onsen, you should stop by once. There are shooting, food shops, souvenir shops, etc., and hot springs on the way to the stairs. If you climb the stairs and walk a little from the shrine, there is also an open-air bath.
I stayed there for 20-25 mins only because I was waiting for the bus to go to Mount Haruno... I heard that there were 365 steps to get to top so I challenged myself to reach the top and get back to the bus stop before the bus arrived! I started at 3:17pm... 3:21pm I was at the top! Ok I admit it, I ran out of breath but I still made it! 😁 There was a small temple at the top but closed for renovations. On my way down, I visited few stores where they have cute souvenirs and others Japanese delicacies. You can also notice some windows on the ground where you can see the hot water flowing for spa. Unless you go at the spa, there's not too much to do there but it still à nice place
Hot spring stands middle of this steps and you can find the shrine of hot spring.
