We had a great time at this little museum. It is totally free, and is small enough that you can see all of it in an hour (at a very fast pace), or take your time and make a morning of it. We spent about two hours there and enjoyed every minute. The recent-modern section was really neat, with all the home convenience appliances and advertisements.
This museum was surprisingly delightful! I was not expecting to walk away impressed from a free museum in Dunedin, but was I wrong! I spent an hour here, but should have spent two as I felt quite rushed. One of the best things about this museum is that it has something for everyone; family trees, cultural insights into early Dunedin, old cars, old computers and technology (some was interactive), woman's suffrage, information on local Maori, and more.
