Invercargill Brewery was set up by Steve Nally in 1999. He'd returned from his OE inspired by the fine beer and cider he'd enjoyed in the UK and Europe, so decided to combine starting a family with starting a brewery. Using home grown ingredients likes Gladfield Malt, Central Otago Apples and Nelson Hops he set about making a uniquely Kiwi range of Craft Beers and Ciders.

  • Great local beer! I've been a fan of Steve and his brews for the past ten years. It's good to see the brewery expand in size in response to its popularity and increase in demand. The brewery has a range of regular beers from "Biman" lager to "Pitch Black" stout and "Stanley Green" ale. Also excellent to see a visiting beers from around the country available on tap. Trying the beer before you buy a flagon is welcomed and the conversation is good too! To correct some other reviews (Written quite a while ago) you CAN have beer there at the Asylum - really chilled atmosphere and of course - great beer.
  • Not very help full did tasting would not recommend busy weekend the place was died plus the beer was died
