Bolton Street Cemetery, Wellington

Stroll the winding paths of Bolton Street Cemetery, the final resting place of many historical figures, including the founder of Wellington William Wakefield. The cemetery is an extension of the city's botanical garden, which means that among the tombstones you'll find open lawns surrounded by rare trees, shrubs, bulbs, and even a heritage rose collection. • Beautifully laid graves dating back more than 100 years. Have a peaceful and solemn walk along the gravestones and nearby trees. Do not bring your superstitious mom along the walk.
  • Very cool cemetery nestled under the freeway. Interesting history. We did it as part of Botanical Garden returning to the city.
