Aker Brygge, Oslo

4.5
#1 of 50 in Shopping in Oslo
Stretching along one of the arms of the Oslo Fjord in the location of a former shipyard, Aker Brygge creates a melting pot where business people, artists, musicians, and celebrities meet and mingle. Several workshop halls of the 19th-century shipyard have been turned into shopping areas with restaurants, art galleries, and a cinema, creating a city-within-a-city. Shop, have a drink, or taste some fresh seafood at the restaurants on the boats by the dock. A walk along the waterfront, with its mixture of old buildings and modern architecture, gives a general view into the history of Norwegian shipbuilding. Visit one of the small harbors, hop on a boat, and take a ride to one of the nearby islands. The area hosts several festivals. • There used to be port facilities here, now it has become a modern, vibrant neighbourhood with apartments, shops, pubs and restaurants. Aker Brygge has become an absolute favourite place for the inhabitants of Oslo and for tourists. On my visit it was sunny at 18 degrees and thousands of people sat in the cafes outside enjoying the sun. You can relax wonderfully here and you don't necessarily have to spend a lot of money. There are enough places to sit and lie down.

  • Før tenkte jeg på området "Aker Brygge" som en rusletur ved restaurantrekken langs Stranden og LingLing på Lekteren. Har du tid, så få deg en fin opplevelse ved å se innom shoppingsenteret Aker Brygge...  more »
