  • My favorite “tourist” activity in Oslo, a great way to spend a sunny or drizzly Sunday afternoon. I especially loved the James Turrell light exhibit – our guide was genuinely nice, and the experience was unique and unexpected. Free on Sundays if you book online in advance (or drop by and see if they can squeeze you in). The fog exhibit is also exceptionally cool – it’s scheduled at certain times, so check in at the friendly visitor’s center when you arrive. Other sculptures were interesting too, you’ll find things that strike your fancy and a few that make you say “huh” – different for everyone - just by wandering around. Lots of wooded trails, open spaces and viewpoints, great for couples, families and solo travellers. Fantastic off-the-beaten-path tourist spot in Oslo.
  • Fabulous sculpture park. Well worth a visit. Much more pleasant than the Vigland Sculpture Park and with a more interesting collection of sculptures placed in unexpected and wonderful settings.
