Banos Arabes, Palma de Mallorca

A unique piece of history is waiting at Banos Arabes. Check out these baths dated from the 10th century, and they’re virtually all that remain of the Arab city of Medina Mayurqa. Historians believe the baths were once part of a nobleman’s house. The structure is a dome with interior columns and round windows. If you take a close look at the columns, you’ll notice each of them are different in size. Outside, enjoy a moment of peace in the secluded garden. You can even have a picnic lunch here if you bring food and drink. Put Banos Arabes on your schedule, and learn what else deserves a visit by using our Palma de Mallorca trip itinerary maker app .

  • Tucked away in a narrow street near the Cathedral, it would be easy to miss if you weren't looking for it. Very atmospheric and historic feel and very small and tranquil garden ~( visited late in the ...  more »
  • It's a nice thing to see if you like art. The main room with the dome and the holes impresses. There are explanatory panels and a video to better understand its function. The entrance fee is three euros. It has a garden with space to rest, although the visit does not last more than twenty minutes.

  • Worth popping in to check out the very old baths building. Clearly they get a lot of visitors so the €3 entry fees must add to quite a bit: so it’s a shame they haven’t done more with the garden. It could be beautiful but is a bit tatty.
  • Good place to waste 3 euros per person. It's an interesting place but not 3 euros worth, 1 would be more like it. They have gone to considerable trouble to advertise, now you know why.!!
