Tren De Soller, Palma de Mallorca

See what travel used to be like by enjoying a scenic ride on Tren De Soller, which has been running its daily train service from the city of Palma, uninterrupted, since 1912. The slow train journey takes visitors across the plains and through citrus groves, winding its way around mountains of the Serra de Tramuntana and through the 13 tunnels, finally ending at the large railway station of the northern town of Soller. This railway was built from the profits of the orange and lemon trade, which boomed at the beginning of the 20th century. For this reason, you may hear the locals call your journey the "Orange Express." Check the timetable and prices on the railway’s official site. With our custom trip planner, Palma de Mallorca attractions like Tren De Soller can be center stage of your vacation plans, and you can find out about other attractions like it, unlike it, near it, and miles away.

  • Catching this train up to Soller is quite easy and well worth the effort... the station pick up point is in the town and the carriages are quite comfy despite not being upholstered! The train winds it...  more »
  • A special excursion is the trip with the Tren de Soller from Soller to Palma. The journey with the narrow gauge railway is not only a highlight for railway enthusiasts. Sitting on the old wagons on the - admittedly hard - benches and driving comfortably through the Landachaft has something nostalgic. The many tunnels, however, overlook the peaks of the Tramuntana. Then the train crosses the plain to Palma. After a stroll through the city, a stop at a restaurant at the marina, a visit to the cathedral and various purchases, it is recommended to return to Soller by bus No 210. It takes longer, but the route leads via Valldemossa and Deia.

  • Great train 🚂 ride but the fact they don't take credit cards is ridiculous when it costs €32 for a return ticket. Also the tram 🚊 at Soller is not synched to the train arrival.
  • Fantastic train ride very nice scenery but crowded and had to stand though added to the ambiance
