A vacation in Toyooka lets you explore the UNESCO Global Geopark that completely surrounds the small town, notable for its scenic islands, rock formations, caves, and sand dunes.
Start off your visit on the 6th (Mon): appreciate the extensive heritage of Street of Kinosaki Onsen and then indulge in Japan's hot spring tradition at some of the top local onsens. On the 7th (Tue), you'll have a packed day of sightseeing: see the interesting displays at Naomi Uemura Bokenkan, contemplate in the serene atmosphere at Daijoji Temple, and then explore the activities along Takeno Coast.

Mitaka is a city located in the western portion of Tokyo Metropolis, in the central Kantō region of Japan., the city had an estimated population of 189,168 and a population density of 11,520 persons per km². Bring the kids along to National Astronomical Observatory of Japan and Inokashira Park Zoo. Ghibli Museum Mitaka and Jindai-ji Temple are good opportunities to explore the local culture. Get out of town with these interesting Mitaka side-trips: Tokorozawa Aviation Museum (in Tokorozawa) and Kakujogyorui Kodaira (in Higashikurume). Plan for a day of cool, family-friendly fun on the 16th (Thu) at Yomiuri Land. The adventure continues: wander the streets of Kichijoji and stroll around Chikurin Park.

You can drive from Kusatsu-machi to Mitaka in 2.5 hours. Alternatively, you can take a bus; or take a train. Traveling from Kusatsu-machi in April, you can expect nighttime temperatures to be somewhat warmer in Mitaka, with lows of 16°C. Cap off your sightseeing on the 16th (Thu) early enough to catch the train to Tokyo.

You've added Kimono Me, Akihabara, Sunshine City, and other attractions to your itinerary. On the 17th (Fri), don't miss a visit to Otome Road, have some family-friendly fun at Usa Cafe Mimi, then browse the different shops at Sunshine City, and finally stop by Kimono Me. On the 18th (Sat), you'll have a packed day of sightseeing: take a stroll through Odaiba and then wander the streets of Akihabara.

Tokyo is very close to Mitaka. Traveling from Mitaka in April, Tokyo is little chillier at night with lows of 12°C. Wrap up your sightseeing by early afternoon on the 19th (Sun) to allow time for travel back home.
