Start off your visit on the 30th (Sat): take in the awesome beauty at Mount Hakodate, take a stroll through Motomachi, then admire the striking features of Goryokaku Park, and finally take in panoramic vistas at Goryokaku Tower. Here are some ideas for day two: get to know the resident critters at Hakodate Park, look for gifts at Kanemori Red Brick Warehouse, then don't miss a visit to Hachimanzaka, and finally contemplate the long history of The Old Public Hall of Hakodate Ward.

Perhaps the island's best-known hot spring resort, Noboribetsu has a long history of tourism.
On the 2nd (Mon), witness a stunning natural landmark at Oku no Yu, take in the dramatic natural features at Jigokudani, and then find something for the whole family at Noboribetsu Date Historic Village. Get ready for a full day of sightseeing on the 3rd (Tue): explore the activities along Lake Toya, then explore the activities along Shiraginu no Toko, then get up close and personal with brilliant marine life at Noboribetsu Marine Park Nixe, and finally take in the views from Hakucho Bridge.

Do a combination of flight and taxi from Noboribetsu to Shari-cho in 4.5 hours. Alternatively, you can drive; or take a train. Traveling from Noboribetsu in December, you can expect nighttime temperatures to be slightly colder in Shari-cho, with lows of -5°C. Finish up your sightseeing early on the 5th (Thu) so you can go by car to Asahikawa.

Finish up your sightseeing early on the 7th (Sat) so you can catch the train to Sapporo.
