Tokyo holds the status of most populous metropolitan area in the world--a fact you'll find tangible as you walk the bustling streets and explore its diverse neighborhoods and cultures.
Popular historic sites such as Samukawa Shrine and Sensō-ji are in your itinerary. Get in touch with nature at Mt. Takao and Kiyose Sunflower Farm. Step out of Tokyo to go to Koganei and see Edo-Tokyo Open Air Architectural Museum, which is approximately 44 minutes away. You can take a train from Tokyo to Nikko in 2 hours. Alternatively, you can drive; or take a bus. Traveling from Tokyo in January, you will find days in Nikko are little chillier (7°C), and nights are about the same (3°C). Finish your sightseeing early on the 28th (Tue) to allow enough time to drive to Yuzawa-machi.
