A global center of finance and transportation, Frankfurt is perhaps best known for its futuristic cityscape.
On the 8th (Sun), admire the natural beauty at Palmengarten and then explore the world behind art at Staedel Museum. Get ready for a full day of sightseeing on the 9th (Mon): contemplate in the serene atmosphere at Mainz Cathedral (Dom), get to know the fascinating history of Neroberg, and then stroll through Frankfurt Zoo (Zoologischer Garten Frankfurt/Main).

Often described as the city of laptops and lederhosen, Munich is an international center of business, engineering, research, and medicine that still maintains a rich cultural heritage and age-old traditions.
You'll visit kid-friendly attractions like Strandbad St. Alban and Deutsches Museum. You'll explore and learn at Munich Residenz and BMW Welt. Take a break from Munich with a short trip to Partnachklamm in Garmisch-Partenkirchen, about 1h 30 min away. There's still lots to do: admire the natural beauty at English Garden, contemplate the long history of St. Peter's Church, don't miss a visit to Marienplatz, and ponder the world of politics at New Town Hall (Neus Rathaus).

You can fly from Frankfurt to Munich in 3.5 hours. Other options are to take a train; or drive. Traveling from Frankfurt in July, plan for a bit cooler nights in Munich, with lows around 15°C. Wrap up your sightseeing on the 14th (Sat) to allow time to drive to Stuttgart.

Drive from Munich to Stuttgart in 2.5 hours. Alternatively, you can take a train; or fly. In July in Stuttgart, expect temperatures between 30°C during the day and 17°C at night. You will have some time to spend on the 16th (Mon) before leaving for Cologne.
