Resting at the meeting point of the Se Don and Mekong rivers, Pakse provides the ideal starting point from which to begin your discovery of southern Laos.
Start off your visit on the 7th (Sat): make a trip to Phu Salao, Golden Buddha, thentake in the dramatic natural features at Bolaven Plateau, and then head off the coast to Don Daeng Island. Keep things going the next day: make a trip to Dao Heuang Market, take in the dramatic scenery at Tad Yuang Waterfalls, thenwander the streets of Si Phan Don, and finally explore the ancient world of Wat Phu.
