Brisbane, Australia to Auckland is an approximately 7-hour flight. The time zone changes from Australian Eastern Standard Time (AEST) to New Zealand Standard Time (NZST), which is usually a 2 hour difference. Expect slightly colder weather when traveling from Brisbane in July: highs in Auckland hover around 13°C, while lows dip to 13°C. Wrap up your sightseeing on the 25th (Sat) early enough to drive to Rotorua.

When in Rotorua, make a side trip to see Hobbiton Movie Set in Hinuera, approximately Hinuera away. And it doesn't end there: whizz through the canopy at some of the top local zipline courses and adventure parks, get your game on at OGO Rotorua, test your team's savvy at popular escape rooms, and witness a stunning natural landmark at Wai-O-Tapu Thermal Wonderland.

You can drive from Auckland to Rotorua in 3 hours. Other options are to fly; or take a bus. Expect little chillier evenings in Rotorua when traveling from Auckland in July, with lows around 7°C. Finish your sightseeing early on the 28th (Tue) so you can drive to Taupo.

The resort town of Taupo lies on the banks of Lake Taupo, the largest body of water in the whole of Australasia.
Start off your visit on the 29th (Wed): explore the striking landscape at Craters of the Moon, thenfind something for the whole family at Huka Prawn Park, thenget the adrenaline pumping with an extreme tour, and finally take in the dramatic scenery at Huka Falls Walkway. On your second day here, cool off at Taupo DeBretts Spa Resort, look for gifts at Huka Honey Hive, thendon't miss a visit to Aratiatia Rapids, and finally admire the natural beauty at Lava Glass.

Drive from Rotorua to Taupo in 1.5 hours. Alternatively, you can take a bus. Finish your sightseeing early on the 30th (Thu) so you can drive to Whakapapa.

The country's largest ski resort brings winter sports enthusiasts from all over New Zealand, while a series of short volcano walks as well as numerous alpine crossings make it easy to hike on your Whakapapa trip throughout the year.
Step out of Whakapapa to go to Tongariro National Park and see Horsemtrails, which is approximately 32 minutes away. There's still lots to do: take in the dramatic scenery at Tawhai Falls, tour the pleasant surroundings at Ridge Track, hike along Silica Rapids Track, and contemplate the waterfront views at Tama Lakes.
