Start off your visit on the 13th (Sat): steep yourself in history at Nishi no Maru, go for a walk through Himeji Castle, thentake in nature's colorful creations at Koko-en, thencontemplate in the serene atmosphere at Yoneda Taishiji Temple, and finally take in the spiritual surroundings of Ishino Hoden Oishi Shrine. Here are some ideas for day two: visit Kobe Harborland, thentake a stroll through Nankinmachi (Kobe Chinatown), thencontemplate in the serene atmosphere at Jodoji Temple, and finally see the interesting displays at Ako City Folk Shiryokan.

Traveling by train from Kyoto to Himeji takes 1.5 hours. Alternatively, you can drive; or take a bus. When traveling from Kyoto in June, plan for a bit cooler days and about the same nights in Himeji: temperatures range from 28°C by day to 24°C at night. Finish up your sightseeing early on the 14th (Sun) so you can catch the train to Hiroshima.
