The largest and most populous city in New Zealand, Auckland combines a rich history and thriving contemporary culture in an abundance of museums, art galleries, and performance venues.
Get some cultural insight at Villa Maria Auckland Winery and Auckland Museum. Step off the beaten path and head to Muriwai Gannet Colony and Mission Bay Beach. Explore Auckland's surroundings by going to Orewa – Te Ara Tahuna Estuary Cycleway (in Orewa), Snells Beach (in Warkworth) and Brick Bay Sculpture Trail (in Snells Beach).
