Get in touch with nature at Yonaha Maehama Beach and Sunayama Beach. Relax by the water at Aragusuku Beach and Toguchi no Hama. There's much more to do: look for all kinds of wild species at Yabiji, snap pictures at Kurima Bridge, see some colorful creatures with a scuba or snorkeling tour, and step off the mainland to explore Shimojiiima Island.

Located on the coast in the middle of the island, Onna-son has become known for its beaches and seaside economy.

On the 13th (Mon), enjoy the sand and surf at Nagata Inakahama and then take in breathtaking views at Shiratani Unsuikyo Valley. On the 14th (Tue), you'll have a packed day of sightseeing: examine the collection at The Yakushima World Heritage Conservation Center and then explore the striking landscape of Yakusugi Land.

Step off the beaten path and head to Toji and Chion-in Temple. Deepen your sense of the past at sights like Fushimi Inari-taisha Shrine and Kinkaku-ji. When in Kyoto, make a side trip to see Osaka Castle in Osaka, approximately 1h 10 min away. There's lots more to do: explore the historical opulence of Nijo Castle, take in the spiritual surroundings of Kitano Tenmangu Shrine, don't miss a visit to Arashiyama, and steep yourself in history at Sanjusangendo Temple.
