Eschew the tourist crowds and head to Cape Hirakubozaki and Kondoi Beach. There's lots more to do: enjoy the sand and surf at Yonehara Beach, walk around Kabira Park, contemplate the waterfront views at Kabira Bay, and take a leisurely stroll along Nishi Pier.

Iriomote-jima

Taketomicho Iriomote-Jima stands as the second largest island in Okinawa.
Start off your visit on the 19th (Thu): step off the mainland to explore Iriomote Island and then head outdoors with Outdoor Activities. Formed by the gradual merging of several old fishing villages, today the island town of Motobu-cho boasts paradisal beaches of white sand, clear waters, and a rich array of wildlife.
Eschew the tourist crowds and head to Scuba & Snorkeling and Minnajima Island. Venture out of the city with trips to Kouri Ohashi (in Nakijin-son) and Sefa-Utaki (in Nanjo). Traveling from Motobu-cho in September, you will find days in Shari-cho are much colder (22°C), and nights are little chillier (17°C).
