The national capital for over a thousand years, Kyoto retains much of the charm of old Japan, boasting numerous temples and shrines that seem completely untouched by the modern world.
Your day-by-day itinerary now includes Monkey Park Iwatayama, Toji, Kyoto City Sagatoriimotocho Nami Preservation Hall, and other attractions you added. Get a sense of the local culture at Nijo Castle and Nara Park. Popular historic sites such as Horyu-ji Temple and Daikaku-ji are in your itinerary. There's still lots to do: wander the streets of Gion, contemplate in the serene atmosphere at Sanjusangendo Temple, steep yourself in history at Ninna-ji Temple, and stroll through Mount Hiei.
