Palm-fringed beaches with golden sand, turquoise water, and a colorful coral reef are enough to draw any beachgoer to Unawatuna, but there's plenty to do off the beach here as well.
You'll get in some beach time at Jungle Beach and Hikkaduwa Beach. Visiting Mirissa Beach and Turtle Hatchery Hikkaduwa will get you outdoors. Venture out of the city with trips to Tsunami Photo Museum (in Telwatta), Saffron Robes (in Hikkaduwa) and Dolphin & Whale Watching (in Mirissa).
