In the foothills of the Alps, Bergamo is features a wealth of artistic treasures and a charming medieval atmosphere.
Change things up with these side-trips from Bergamo: Verona (Liston, Arena di Verona, &more). There's still lots to do: steep yourself in history at La Citta Alta, admire the striking features of Porta Sant'Agostino, pause for some serene contemplation at Basilica di Santa Maria Maggiore, and make a trip to Piazza Vecchia.

As the second largest city in Lombardy after Milan, Brescia has served as an important hub of commerce and culture since pre-Roman times.
Start off your visit on the 4th (Sat): make a trip to Brescia Underground, then get great views at Maniva, then take in the architecture and atmosphere at Duomo Vecchio di Brescia, and finally contemplate the long history of Piazza Paolo VI.
