Getting from Fujioka to Kusatsu-machi by car takes about 2 hours. In April, daily temperatures in Kusatsu-machi can reach 19°C, while at night they dip to 10°C. Finish up your sightseeing early on the 11th (Thu) so you can go by car to Minakami-machi.

Perched beneath the foothills of several soaring mountains, the town of Minakami-machi provides a picturesque stepping stone from which to explore the dramatic surrounding scenery.
You'll find plenty of places to visit near Minakami-machi: Katashina-mura (Ozegahara & Snowpal Oguna Hotaka) and Kawaba-mura (Kojyu Hotspring & Tsuchida Brewery). Spend the 12th (Fri) exploring nature at Oze National Park. On the 16th (Tue), spend a relaxing day on the river with I LOVE OUTDOORS JAPAN. There's much more to do: tour the pleasant surroundings at Tanigawadaketenjindaira Ski Area, look for all kinds of wild species at Tsukiyono Hotaru no Sato Promenade, take an in-depth tour of Naramata Dam Disaster Protection Museum, and paddle through the water with Forest & Water Minakami.

Traveling by car from Kusatsu-machi to Minakami-machi takes 2 hours. Wrap up your sightseeing on the 24th (Wed) to allow time to drive to Shibukawa.

Often referred to as the "Belly Button of Japan," the city of Shibukawa celebrates its status as the country's geographical center by hosting the Heso Matsuri, or Belly Button Festival.
Change things up with these side-trips from Shibukawa: Okutone Winery (in Showa-mura), Maebashi (Maebashi Bungakukan, Akagi Forest Park, &more) and Numata (Fukiwarenotaki Falls, Tambara Lavender Park, &more).
