Perched beneath the foothills of several soaring mountains, the town of Minakami-machi provides a picturesque stepping stone from which to explore the dramatic surrounding scenery.
Get some cultural insight at Tenichi Art Museum and Naramata Dam Disaster Protection Museum. Change things up with these side-trips from Minakami-machi: Katashina-mura (Ozegahara & Snow Park Oze Tokura), Kawaba-mura (Kojyu Hotspring, Kabuto Falls, &more) and Numata (Fukiwarenotaki Falls & Tenkeiji Temple). Famous for its Daruma dolls, Takasaki serves as a great stopover town during a trip through Japan.
