Perched beneath the foothills of several soaring mountains, the town of Minakami-machi provides a picturesque stepping stone from which to explore the dramatic surrounding scenery.
Bring the kids along to Takumi no Sato and Tambara Lavender Park. Escape the urban bustle at Tanigawadaketenjindaira Ski Area and Fukiwarenotaki Falls. You'll find plenty of places to visit near Minakami-machi: Kawaba-mura (Kabuto Falls & Kojyu Hotspring), Gunma Astronomical Observatory (in Takayama-mura) and Numata (Tenkeiji Temple, Spa Resort Yuniiku, &more). Spend the 3rd (Wed) exploring nature at Oze National Park. On the 9th (Tue), spend a relaxing day on the river with I LOVE OUTDOORS JAPAN. Famous for its Daruma dolls, Takasaki serves as a great stopover town during a trip through Japan.
Kids will enjoy Konnyaku Park and Gunma Safari Park. Museum-lovers will appreciate Kannamachi Dinosaurs Center and Fuji Fureaikan. Venture out of the city with trips to Shibukawa (Ikaho Shrine, Ikaho Stone Steps, &more), Maebashi (Genkeiji Temple, Ninomiya Akagi Shrine, &more) and Annaka (Sakamoto Shuku & Akima Bairin).
