Salò is a town and comune in the Province of Brescia in the region of Lombardy (northern Italy) on the banks of Lake Garda, on which it has the longest promenade. Museum-lovers will appreciate Casa D'Arte Futurista Depero and La Limonaia del Castel. For shopping fun, head to Fidenza Village or Mostra Delle Miniature e Dei presepi. Get out of town with these interesting Salo side-trips: Lago di Garda (in Garda), Rovereto (Museo Storico Italiano della Guerra, Corso Bettini di Rovereto, & more) and Sirmione (Jamaica Beach, Grotte di Catullo, & more). There's lots more to do: contemplate the waterfront views at Lago di Garda, step into the grandiose world of Scaliger Castle in Malcesine, view the masterpieces at Il Giardino Della Poesia - Evadoavanti, and appreciate the extensive heritage of Borghetto sul Mincio.

If you are flying in from India, the closest major airports are Verona Villafranca Airport, Il Caravaggio International Airport and Milano Linate Airport. In August in Salo, expect temperatures between 34°C during the day and 22°C at night. Cap off your sightseeing on the 17th (Thu) early enough to travel back home.
