You might consider the city of Budapest, divided by the Danube River into two distinctive cities--Buda and Pest--to be essentially one large World Heritage Site.
Shop till you drop at Andrassy Avenue and Herend Porcelain - Hadik Shop. Step out of the city life by going to Palatinus Strandfürdő and City Park Városliget. There's much more to do: make a trip to Fisherman's Bastion, contemplate in the serene atmosphere at St. Stephen's Basilica (Szent Istvan Bazilika), appreciate the history behind Heroes' Square, and steep yourself in history at Matthias Church.

To see other places to visit, where to stay, photos, and other tourist information, go to the Budapest journey maker.

If you are flying in from France, the closest major aiport is Budapest Liszt Ferenc International Airport. In August, plan for daily highs up to 32°C, and evening lows to 18°C. Wrap up your sightseeing on the 2nd (Sun) to allow time to travel back home.
