The small town of Myoko, nestled between five mountain peaks, attracts skiing and winter-sport enthusiasts with its famed resorts and abundant snowfall.
Take a break from the city and head to Hakuba Happoone Ski Resort and Jigokudani Snow Monkey Park. Kids will enjoy Onioshidashi Volcanic Park and Hakuba Jump Arena. Venture out of the city with trips to Zenko-ji Temple (in Nagano), Ushikata Inn (in Otari-mura) and Nozawaonsen-mura (Nozawaonsen Sotoyu Nakao Hot Spring & Nozawa Onsen Ski Resort). Next up on the itinerary: learn and have fun at Hakuba Snow Sports School, take your sightseeing to a higher altitude at Mt. Kusatsu-Shirane, witness a stunning natural landmark at Yubatake, and don't miss a visit to Chatsubomigoke.
