Garni, is a major village in the Kotayk Province of Armenia. Escape the urban bustle at Hayravank Monastery and Garni Gorge. Visit The Monastery of Geghard and Garni Temple for their historical value. Tehran, Iran to Garni is an approximately 7-hour flight. You can also drive; or do a combination of bus and taxi. You'll lose 0.5 hours traveling from Tehran to Garni due to the time zone difference. Traveling by shuttle from Yerevan to Gyumri takes 2 hours. Alternatively, you can drive; or take a train. The time zone difference moving from Armenia Standard Time to Turkey Time is minus 1 hour. Traveling from Yerevan in August, things will get slightly colder in Gyumri: highs are around 34°C and lows about 17°C. Finish your sightseeing early on the 24th (Mon) to allow enough time to travel to Vanadzor.
